Dancing with the Mountain Stars 2011

This year's "Dancing with the Mountain Stars" event took place once more at the Keystone Conference Center in Summit County, Colorado.

See the whole album & purchase photos for a limited time here!

Local competitors were paired up with professional dancers from Los Angeles and were trained how to dance. This annual event, modeled after the TV show, "Dancing with the Stars," is a fundraiser for the Summit Medical Center Health Foundation, a non-profit that raises money for improvements to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center hospital in Frisco, Colorado.

This is the third year I shot this pro-bono event and it's always a great time. Summit County community member trade in their puffy coats and hiking boots for black tie gowns and tuxedos.

Bross's Senior Portraits in Evergreen

Adventure Senior Portraits!

Summit High School senior Bross and I created his senior portraits down in Evergreen in Jefferson County, Colorado rather than up in Summit County where he lives. We cruised around the Evergreen Lake House, taking advantage of the water views, grassy fields and beautiful buildings.

Bross wanted a shot of himself in his hospital scrubs, something he has had to wear a lot during his high school and ski career. I love the conquering attitude and symbolism in this shot.

Warren Village Millionaire's Pampering Extravaganza

This post is a bit overdue but thought I'd share it anyway...

Here are some portraits I shot of the Millionaire's Pampering Extravaganza this spring, a charity event held at the Denver, Colorado First Unitarian Church for the residents of Warren Village.

Warren Village is a residential facility for single parents and this pampering day provided makeovers for these beautiful ladies entirely by volunteer stylists.

I volunteered for this pro-bono shoot to photograph the ten women who were drawn from a lottery for a portrait session with me. Last year, we stayed inside and did some studio-style portraits but this year we went with a more creative outdoor shoot.

Monica & Aaron's Breckenridge Wedding

Portraits in the lodgepole pine forrest.

Monica and Aaron drove up from Texas with their friends and family to tie the knot at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The ladies show off their flip-flops embroidered with their names - a gift from the bride.

The wedding party

Elevator...

High up at the base of the mountain, the morning wedding celebration started with a ceremony on the patio of Seven's Restaurant at the base of... yep, you guessed it... Peak 7.
The two exchanged vows overlooking the beautiful Summit County mountains. The weather held out and the summer sun shone bright on their day.

After a gondola ride to the base of Peak 8, the party continued just below the terrain park at One Ski Hill Place. Congrats Aaron and Monica! Come back to Breck soon!
